Examination Methods in Common Use:

1． Hue Contrast

1） Mix the liquid resin with the color powder according to the same proportion. Grinding the mixture with three-roll mill, then scrape and observe the color difference.
      2） Mix the rubber with the color powder according to the same proportion. Make different color discs and measure the color by computer, get the DE value and judge it again.

2． Heat Resistance

Put the color sample and rubber in the shot moulding can and remain for 3 minutes. Make a color disic with them, then compare it with the standard color that has not been put into the can to confirm the highest temperature.

3．Antiweatherability

Dry the color cards that waiting for test for 24 hours. Put them in the xenon arc light fastness machine for 20, 40, 80, 160, or 320 hours. Then take out to compare with the yellow standard card to confirm their class. The best is class 8, and the worst is class 1.

4． Migratory Resistance

Clip the tinted color disc waiting for test with two PVC transparent slices. Then place it into a oven for 72 hours under 70℃. Confirm the class according to the taint conditions on the PVC. If has seriously migrated, should be class 1; remarkably, class 2; migrated, class 3; slightly, class 4, non-migrated, class 5.

5．Water Resistance

Put 0.5 grams of pigment and 20 mls of distilled water into a plug test tube. Concuss the tube for 5 minutes, then extract with vacuum. Observe and confirm the class of the filtrate and the color degree according to the color filter and the grayness. The best is class 5 and worst is class 1.

6．Oil Resistance

Put the color paste waiting for test onto the rapid qualitative filter paper. When the seepage face reaches 2 centimeters to the outer fringe (refer to the linseed), according to the grayness, reserve the seepage face to confirm the class. The best is class 5 and worst is class 1.

7．Acid Fastness

Put 0.5 grams of pigment and 20 mls of hydrochloric acid solution of 20% into a plug test tube. (comparison solution, put distilled water into it) Concuss the tube for 5 minutes, then extract with vacuum. Classify the filter cake according to the color changing sample card, and classify the filtrate to the color fildtering gray sample card. Use A and [B]mean. A means the color class of the filtrate and [B] means the color changing class of the filter cake. The best is class 5 and worst is class 1.

8．Alkali Fastness

The test method is same as 7. The reagent should be changed to 2% sodium hydroxide.
